I was really glad when I found that you had posted more video since I had watched some before. As I was watching them this time though, I kept thinking my eyes were just getting old because I kept thinking I was seeing movement of a person type thing. Sometimes on the refrigerator or t.v, trash can etc. I felt better after you said you had seen them too. Have you ever asked your neighbors if they have anything happening? I realize that may be a tough conversation to have. I hope you are staying well, I know how this can drain a person. A simple protection prayer might be good, such as The light of God surrounds me, the love of God enfolds me and the power of God protects me I use this alot and so do my grandchildren. I wish you the best Michael.
Preston School of Industry Origin U. S. Genres Indie rock Alternative rock Jangle pop Paisley Underground Alternative country Lo-fi Years active 1999-2004 Labels Matador, Domino Associated acts Spiral Stairs, Pavement, Wilco
Preston School of Industry is an indie rock band formed by Scott Kannberg (a. k. a. Spiral Stairs) in 1999, following the dissolution of his previous band, Pavement. Its name is taken from the well known US reform school of the same name, Preston School of Industry in Ione, California [ citation needed].
The band's earliest studio release was a cover of Phish 's "Axilla II" for the charity tribute album Sharin in the Groove. In 2001, Preston School of Industry released All This Sounds Gas. [1] The band released its second album, Monsoon, in 2004, with studio contributions from members of The Minus 5 and Wilco.
Preston School of Industry went inactive after their September 2004 Australian tour, though Kannberg revealed in late 2006 he had been slowly working on a record: "Don't know when it's going to be released. Just taking my time, nothing special. I've got the songs, I just haven't figured out how I want to do it yet. This winter, I'll probably get it done. " [2] However, in 2009, Kannberg released a solo album under the name Spiral Stairs.

Chasing some crazy eight
Red red carpet blue blue market
Oh yeah we got clout
Line it up in a box this end
And you've got to become those same
I believe I'm not the same
Somebody knows it's true
That's a mechanical kind of feeling
The jackets the seams
Oh yeah what's that red light chrome cans zero percent
Lining up in a box this end of town
It's not your money your stock is down
Luck is always all you need
Look into the common mind
The common mind has no compromise
And I'm not feeling right a nasty phase
Lock onto your heart and soul
Look into the common goal
The change of scene has made it real
Time has kissed it with the seal
But the feelings they grow and they indicate snow and the falling rain will stay there
It will stay there lined up in a box
And do you know the radio comes in shiny nickel
What do you want from me
You cry cry but you try try but you die die.
Looks like tormented faces in those orbs.

That is well followed through- great characters and great filming! Executed well! It's fun and not too gory but scary and definitely entertaining horror flick.

@Whorsquini i not get it wats at 3:15.
I tend to give low budget horror a lot of leeway. This is so bad, I can't with good conscience do that. There are no half stars to give. Simply put- one of the worst attempts at horror in a long time. Clearly the producers have no idea how to make a film worth watching. I feel sorry for actors, the crew and the investors. I'm sure there were a lot of good people involved who worked very hard on this crappy film. Save your money.
Not scary, a few jump scare moments, but nothing new compared to other films from this genre. The story unfolds and has potential but just falls short in many ways. Acting is not bad, but not great, overall just average for me.

Please try again later. 15 August 2018 Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase 25 February 2004 Format: Audio CD After initial caution at a Spiral Stairs solo career based on a sometimes erratic input on the Pavement albums, ranging from the sublime (Date With Ikea, Hit The Plane Down etc. ) to the underwhelming (Passat Dream); I have been pleasantly surprised by both Preston School Of Industry albums to date and with 'Monsoon', I feel he is beginning to hit his stride and play to his strengths - alt. country with sweet hooks. 'Monsoon' seems to occupy remarkably different areas to those that Malkmus works in these days, though I feel both have created strong albums since splintering off from the greatest alt. rock band of our time. 'Monsoon' is a fine collection of songs and another worthy addition to the Malkmus/Stairs/Pavement history.
18 February 2004 Format: Audio CD When all 'All this sounds gas' came out there was alot of press -and the songs on the album were essentially songs written while Spiral Stairs was in pavement but were never recorded. And after listening to the album you wonder why? These were far superior to the final couple of pavement albums. After Pavement split both Stephen Malkmus and Spiral Stairs under the name 'Preston School of Industry' released albums. While Malkmus's sounded more like a later period Pavement lp, All that was Gas was a truely great album. Last Year Malkmus released his 2nd album, Pig Lig, with the Jicks, and again the results were pretty disappointing - the initial releases had a free live disc that had far superior versions than those on the main release and were much more accessible. A few months later Spiral Stairs releases 'Monsoon'. 11 tracks, 37 minutes - a no frills album starting where he left off. Again there is a large layered style throughout though the arrangement are still predominantely guitar based. There is a opavement edge but also part alt-country (Jeff Tweedy plays guitar on one of the tracks). Again the catchy melodies flow throughout the album, but with has more produced edge than the portable-multitrack recorded all this sounds gas. What lets the album down more than anything is that a few of the songs are just not very good - some more experimental that just don't hit the spot and given the class of the others these standout. I rate the Preston School of industry albums against any Pavement release excepting Slanted and Enchanted, Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee of course.

Tries to be good, but it just doesn't work - merely an "ok" indie pop album
8 January 2006 -
Published on You can tell that Preston School Of Industry is really trying to be good (after all, it's made up of ex-Pavement members), but they just somehow manage not to be. The problems lie with the singer and the music itself. The music tends to be catchy yet somewhat unlikable - they won't stick in your head. The overall "sound" of the album is just not very pleasant (the production isn't that good). The musicianship is pretty solid and clean, but it still manages to push you away. You can tell, however, that they at least can create a good hook. The singer is also not very good - he could certainly use work. The lyrics tend to be extremely hard to make out and aren't really worth your time anyway (it's pretty generic and pointless). The saving grace here is that at least every song is catchy. They have some potential, but they definitely need to work on things more. This is only for indie pop fans, and they probably might not like it. Not recommended. Highlights include: the entire album is "decent"

"I don't care where you go when time goes awry. "
15 August 2006 -
Published on Most people who don't like Spiral Stairs, it would seem, primarily criticize him on the grounds of Stephen Malkmus. Thus, I am going to start by clearing this up: Malkmus was the creative heart of Pavement. Malkmus was the primary songwriter. Malkmus defined the direction of the band. And he is a better songwriter. It is hard to disagree with any of these statements. And for anyone trying to review a Spiral Stairs CD, it is a waste to even try......... But why not this? It's almost an innovative idea, because it never seems to happen, but why not pretend that Spiral Stairs and Malkmus have no connection to each other in terms of their careers? Or if they do, then it's that they were both members of the best band of the 90s........ a distinction that they can both claim in common. That said, now let's look at the squire outside of the shadow of the knight, so to speak. The way he deserves to be seen in order to get a fair shake. This done, Preston School of Industry's Monsoon comes out as a pretty darn good album. There are no tricks or gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors. The songs are no more complicated than Pavement contributions like "Date with Ikea" or "Kennel District. " But they don't have to be, because they drive. They are convincing. They are examples, in fact, of what musicians with average voices who play three or four chords in repetitive, uninteresting ways can do with a little bit of passion. The first three songs are exemplary of the "less is more" trend of this album. Not to mention the cursed name again...... but it's really great that Spiral knows he is not Malkmus and does not try to be him, nor anywhere close. His feet planted on the ground, he starts us off with three pretty-contagious anthems. The music is big and clumsy, slightly countrified. The chord progressions are irresistible pop. The singing is half-mumbled and self-assured. And the lyrics are pleasantly potent...... starting from "I don't care where you go as time goes awry. " I feel like in some way a lot of Spiral's songs are about, or at least reflect Malkmus. One definitely heard this on All That Sounds Gas...... particularly in "Whalebones" -- a direct reference to driving home the old Pavement tour bus after the final show. But while this song was a lamentation, not to mention full of venom (Malkmus got a sarcastic nod with "genius headed home again" -- well deserved for the way the breakup was handled), Monsoon features a much more positive take on the Pavement experience, which Spiral understandably can't seem to shake. "The Furnace Sun" is Spiral's version of Neil Young's masterpiece, "Thrasher" -- with its declaration of independence from bandmates who bummed out, and resolution to die in the sun rather than stop playing and creating. "Walk of the Gurl, " meanwhile, is widely interpreted as an ode to Malkmus. I thought that "Monkey Heart & the Horse's Leg" was about Malkmus too........ and if so, since that song, Spiral has come to terms. Villain or not, Malkmus -- once called the Fred Astaire of indie -- is given his due here for the "walk and the swirl. " The image is quite attractive and complimentary, accompanied by seven layers of instruments piled into one perfectly constructed pop song -- to me the best song by any post-Pavement member. But even as he praises Malkmus, Spiral again declares independence. "Towers are edged to the sky, hopefully I will see them someday" Spiral says of his rival's contributions to music, one would guess, before mumbling something that sounds like "didn't know he had the rights"..... The rights to writing music. The rights to post-Pavement greatness. If I interpret at all correctly, here, Spiral says "You may be great, Steve.... But I can play too, for better or for worse. " Maybe a message to the critics who panned his first album on that altar of Malkmus rather than Malkmus himself. Not much new ground is broken past this. Most of the songs fall into the same sunny category, with few real standouts. "So Many Ways" adds a pretty piano melody and graceful sulk to the mix. "Tone It Down" is a nice understated acoustic finisher. And when all is said and done, what one has is an album that few -- even critics -- find unpleasant. A nice summer CD. Good background music to be happy to. So, given that it holds its own, why does this album get panned as much as praised? Because of Malkmus. The fact that he exists. The critics are too busy kissing the ground he walks on to give credit to the #2....... But to me #2 is pretty darn heroic. There is nothing wrong with being #2. All That Sounds Gas overdid it in places, but Monsoon seems like a record that Spiral was proud to make. The kind of record that he is good at making. And the kind of record that actually fills a unique place in the Pavement and post-Pavement pantheon, as a pure chill record to break up the relentless flow of ideas.... Kind of like Spiral Stairs songs did in the old days........ This said, here I have to bring back the Spiral-Malkmus comparison for just a minute and say that, all told....... I think Monsoon is better than Pig Lib. Who ever thought? Who would allow himself to think it?

Published on people, i am here to give some band algebra. since some people below seem to be sorta confused. if pavement was led zep, then steve malkmus is more grateful dead and preston school of industry is more lynard skynard. steve malkmus likes the trippy wawa noodly dynamics of a good grateful dead jam. he mixes this with pop and makes "stephen malmkmus and the jicks" albums. scott kannberg likes the rootsy bluegrass vibe like lynard skynard. but he mixes them with pop to make preston school of industry. what does it sound like? pavement. pavement, like zeppelin, covered enormous amounts of ground, blues, folk, rock, jazz, stomp, punk, metal or whatever. you get the drift. compare "fool in the rain" to "dazed and confused". well some of pavements songs were more steve M. and some were more scott K. if you liked most of pavements work, then there is a good chance that you will like half of these songs VERY much and wish they were mixed together on a disc with your favorite songs from steve malkmus' new album with the jicks. then you would almost have the new pavement album. some people just work well together, like kim deal and frank black of the pixies, it just works. well, steve and scott worked amazingly well together, and we will not have any more true pavement moments unelss they are together again. so until then, those who like pavement will REALLY like some of these songs. for those who need a fix and havent heard of it yet. get the silver jews "american water" its a necessary steve malkmus recording that rivals some of the best pavement. now you know, and knowings half the battle.

The idea that in our tech modern world an app could be developed to connect the living to the dead is intriguing. But this movie was less about the app and more about interpersonal relationships of characters. No thought was put into the development process of the app, it's true potential or limitations, or purpose. The actor playing Sam was so terrible at playing a socially awkward IT-nerd. The couple's fight the night before their marriage was without any substance or reason. The fact that they all got up and left on some adventure regardless of the next day's ceremony was unconvincing. The revenge theme was entirely predictable. So much wasted potential in the premise. And what the hell was up with the very last scene. So confused.
