Took my granddaughter and her friend. they both really enjoyed the movie. They both said it was one... of their favoueites. well worth seeing See More Saw this with my nine and twelve year old children. It had a great mix of action and comedy without... being a ‘sunshine and lollipops’ style kid’s movie. Some mild bad language, but didn’t bother us. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it as a family movie for ages 8 up. See More Went with my daughter who is 10 action movies packed and laughter, loved it.

After 3 minutes one of my sons whispered to me "What is this? I don't like it."

I think that about sums it up - What is this movie? What is it trying to be? And when, oh when, will it end?

It's a bit too violent and has too many pointless, non-story progressing scenes to be a kids' movie but it is definitely not for adults. All the good bits are in the 30-second advert that convinced us to go and see it.

We saw a morning session at the cinema. At 10.57am I checked my watch, at 11.01am I checked my watch and was stunned to find time had completely slowed.

Although Chloe Coleman is an excellent actress and very watchable, every other character was unbelievable, unappealing and terribly written. What a waste of clever people like Kristen Schaal (or as I call her, Mel from Flight of the Conchords.

My older son thought it was okay but when pressed, couldn't name a favourite scene. The younger one gave up and ended up playing a game on my phone about an hour in.

My Spy is a ridiculously clueless film - it essentially has no idea what it wants to be. One thing it is for sure is that it's incredibly boring, cringe and unfunny, with forced charm and emotion. The film's story completely deviates from a coming-of-age story to an action film. The dialogue and performances were god awful and nothing about the underdeveloped characters made you engaged.

Please remember this is my opinion, others may have felt different

Dave Bautista won’t have two comedies coming out within two months of each other after all. Ahead of this weekend’s release of the buddy comedy Stuber, in which Bautista stars opposite Kumail Nanjiani, STXfilms has pulled My Spy from its August 23rd release date. A new release date for the film is not yet set, as it’s simply been given a TBA date in Q1 of 2020.
My Spy finds Bautista playing a CIA agent who’s forced to team up with a 9-year-old-girl when he’s tasked with watching her family. Stuber, meanwhile, finds Bautista playing an LAPD detective who reluctantly joins forces with an Uber driver to catch a notorious drug lord. Both films find Bautista playing a law enforcement official, both films find him in unusual pairings, and both are buddy comedies. So you can see why STXfilms might want to put a little distance between their movie and Stuber.

No official reason was given for the move, but Deadline says it has to do with putting distance between the two films and allowing Bautista the time to do press for both. While STXfilms had a hit with this January’s The Upside —which grossed $122 million worldwide—the studio’s other three 2019 films stumbled: The Best of Enemies grossed only $10. 2 million, the comedy Poms faltered with $15. 3 million, and the expensive animated feature Ugly Dolls was a flop with just $26. 6 million. The studio needs a hit, so it makes sense they’d want to make sure they’re setting My Spy up for success. Still to come on the 2019 docket are Playmobil: The Movie opening August 30th, the stripper-centric Hustlers, and the Russo Brothers ­-produced crime drama 21 Bridges.
The bigger question is why this My Spy move wasn’t made earlier, but perhaps early positive word on Stuber has the studio convinced folks won’t want to roll the dice on a second Dave Bautista comedy in under two months. Better late than never I suppose.
Next up for Bautista is Dune, which hits theaters next year, and he’s about to start shooting Zack Snyder ’s Netflix zombie movie Army of the Dead.

I saw this movie with my 4 daughters and we all Loved it! We are not professional movie reviewers or anything like that but absolutely enjoyed all the different emotions in this movie, it was Charming, Comical, Witty, Action Packed, Heart Warming, Suspenseful, and more! We also loved the relationship between David Batista & Chloe Coleman. just Precious, and their performances charming! There was some violence and language but nothing bloody or disgusting.

MY SPY follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit.
