I really don't understand a few people giving this film and Judy Garland such ugly reviews. Some people just hate anything old fashioned, I guess.

This film is beautiful, and Judy Garland is gorgeous. Are a few people blind? And Judy's singing is absolutely wonderful. I must say though, that most reviews I've read, I've almost never seen anyone badmouth Judy, just on a couple reviews for this film. Other bad reviews I've read, people are usually picking at other things about Judy's films but are still saying they love Judy and her singing and they still think she's pretty.

Anyway, enough about other reviewers. I think Judy is beyond pretty, she's beautiful and heavenly. And her singing is also beautiful and heavenly. I love old fashioned classics such as this film and Judy's other films. The wonderful songs in this film are "the trolley song. the boy next door. have yourself a merry little Christmas" and the title song. Judy and the other characters here are great including a very young Margerate O'Brien. This film and Judy are pure, sweet, wonderful, old fashioned, classic good cheer from Hollywood's golden age.

Judy Garland.
I LOVE this movie, everyone knows about "Wizard of Oz" which is fantastic of course, but this little gem doesn't get the attention it deserves. This movie, made during WW2, must have been a wonderful homage to what was remembered as a simpler time in America when family and home were the most important aspects of our lives and the worst thing we had to worry about was troubles with our boyfriends and moving across country. My favorite part of the movie is when Judy sings "The Trolley Song" on the trolley (where else! waiting for John Truitt to arrive so they can all go to the fair grounds together. Many people have sung "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" but no one has ever sung it like Judy did in this movie, with so much emotion and poignancy that it brings you to tears everytime. "Meet Me in St. Louis" is so charming and delightful that I watch it several times a year and enjoy it everytime even though I'm from New York and can't understand why EVERYONE doesn't want to live here.

I was in love with this movie the first time I saw it! One of the best performances from both Deborah Kerr and Yul rhaps one of the Best musicals ever.

Many great numbers from this wonderful musical but this is, without a doubt, my favorite.

The movie is AWESOME. JUDY IS THE BEST ACTRESS WHO EVER LIVED.
Just to think Judy was 21 in this movie, her voice was outstanding, sounded like it would've belonged to a 40 something year old which made her a very talented unique individual. I always thought Judy Garland was beautiful, all of the critics can burn in hell.

Oh man, I'm trying to gain Christmas spirit but. I'm just. yea.
Sometimes you just have to listen to Judy Garland. And dream a little.
Funny story. So, at a party at my church, I met my best friends' little brother for the first time. She explained that she could never get him to laugh. I just recited the spoken lines in between the verses of this song to him. He laughed his head off.
For all the hagiography over Judy Garland, it was not until i saw this movie that I realized just how talented she was.
