Summary Release date: 2020. New Digimon Adventure movie commemorating 20th Anniversary. Seven kids at summer camp are unexpectedly transported by ‘digi-vices’ to a colorful and enigmatic world. Lost and alone, they are befriended by small digital monsters, Digimons. The kids and their Digimon partners quickly become inseparable, and the strange creatures guide their human friends through the wondrous DigiWorld, protecting them from the hordes of evil Digimons. The group soon discovers that some of the giant Digimons they encounter are not evil Digimons but good Digimons gone bad. A dark power is corrupting even the most gentle of Digimons by embedding Black Gears into them, turning them into vicious monsters. Creating chaos and destruction wherever it goes, the evil power threatens all of DigiWorld. As they try to find their way back home, the seven kids are drawn further and further into the mystery. Through teamwork and trust, they help their newfound Digimon friends digivolve from ‘monsters in training’ to giant champions that must save the DigiWorld from the powerful evil intent on destroying it. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna ( Japanese: デジモンアドベンチャー LAST EVOLUTION 絆, Hepburn: Dejimon Adobenchā LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna) is an upcoming Japanese animated adventure film produced by Toei Animation and animated by Yumeta Company. Set in the same continuity of the first two Digimon television anime series, the film is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on February 21, 2020. It will also be released through Fathom Events in the U. S. on March 25, 2020 in its original Japanese version with English subtitles [4] [5].
Plot
The film is set five years after Digimon Adventure tri., taking place in 2010. With Taichi and his friends reaching adulthood, they are struck with news that the partnership with their Digimon will soon end and they will be forever separated, as they are not children anymore. Meanwhile, a powerful Digimon called Eosmon appears, robbing other DigiDestined of their counsciousness. Despite knowing that using their powers will shorten the little time they still can have together, it's up to Taichi, Agumon and all their friends to fight together one last time to save the world.

A new film project was announced on July 29, 2018 as part of the series' 20th anniversary. [8] The film, titled Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, will be directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and written by Akatsuki Yamatoya, with animation by Yumeta Company. It was then teased on Toei's youtube movie account Toei Animation is producing the film, and the rest of the staff and cast are returning to reprise their roles. [9] It will premiere on February 21, 2020. [10]

Toei revealed more characters and cast members on Sunday for the Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna anime film. The new characters are the adult versions of the main characters of the Digimon Adventure 02 anime, as well as their partner Digimon. Digimon Adventure 02 aired for 50 episodes in 2000 to 2001. The voice actors for the Digimon are reprising their roles.

The film will open in Japan on February 21, 2020. Toei teases the film as "Taichi and Agumon's final adventure. " The taglines on the teaser visual below read, "We will always be together, " and, "We walk together with Digimon, toward all the 'children. '"
Tomohisa Taguchi (four-part Persona 3 the Movie film series, Kino's Journey - The Beautiful World, Twin Star Exorcists) is directing the film at Yumeta Company. Akatsuki Yamatoya ( Digimon Adventure, Digimon Frontier, Digimon: Data Squad) is writing the screenplay, and Seiji Tachikawa ( Kino's Journey - The Beautiful World, Blue Spring Ride) is the chief animation director. Toei Animation is credited for production.
Hiromi Seki, Toei Animation 's original producer for the Digimon anime projects, is serving as the supervisor of the new film project. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is also returning from the first Digimon anime projects as the new film project's character designer. Kenji Watanabe is designing the Digimon monsters for the new project, as he has done for the previous Digimon projects.
Other cast members are reprising their roles from the Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series.
