I hope they don't screw this up, I loved the comics and with each issue there were tiny details that you wouldn't notice until much later in the series I often found myself free reading them just because something new came up that that had already existed. This past Saturday my boyfriend passed away. He lived with frontal lobe epilepsy which caused complex partial seizures. He is only 25 and I can't stop crying. He posted on here a lot, and he loved this community. He told me he got a lot of support here. Ive gone back and read a lot of his posts that he made in this group. I don't know if it's really comforting but I know that I was there with him through everything that he went through. He died in his sleep, so we aren't sure if it was epilepsy related or not. He had recently been diagnosed with central sleep apnea as well. We were waiting for the sleep facility to get back to us so he could get set up with a CPAP machine. They were taking a long time to get back to us. Both him and I had called the facility several times but they always just said they would get back to us. The hospital doctor said it looked like he could have vomited in his sleep and aspirated it. He sleeps on his back. It looked like he was vomitting when the paramedics were trying to revive him really but we wont have an official cause of death for up to three months from now. One thing really upset me though. When I called 911 because he couldn't wake up, The paramedics asked what drugs he could have taken. I showed them all of his pill bottles and named them all off. I told him he had a diagnosis of epilepsy and all of his other conidtions. Everything he took was prescribed by a doctor. The paramedic asked if he had taken any illegal drugs and the answer was no. The paramedic saw all the pill bottles from the pharmacy with the doctors name on them. My boyfriend took a lot of meds, but everything he got from his doctors. I would help him organize them in to his daily pill containers and I was actually going to wake him up so he could take his meds when I found him on Saturday. Later on at the hospital, after he had passed away, I get a call from the medical examiner saying that the paramedic reported that I told them my boyfriend had taken illegal drugs. I was livid. Like I know a lot of this shouldn't matter now since he's gone, but my boyfriend had been through this before with paramedics. Around when I first met him several years ago he had a seizure in his apartment and his roommate called 911. My boyfriend told me that he woke up from his seizure to the paramedics screaming at him asking which drugs he did. You guys know what it's like when you're coming out of a tonic clonic seizure. You're confused and upset, you can't communicate properly. That's not something you should have to wake up to. My boyfriend had filed a complaint with the city ambulance about it then and I intend to file another complaint for this instance now. I made it very clear to the paramedic and I showed them proof that all my boyfriends meds were legitimate but they ignored what I said and lied for no good reason. I know being in a major city they probably see people who do drugs a lot but I told them otherwise and they still ignored me. No one with epilepsy should be accused of doing illegal drugs because of their medical condition. I miss him so much. We had a hard life and hard relationship but I didn't want to be with anyone else. He was my frist boyfriend. His reddit name was FrenchFry_Frosty, but his real name is Michael. If anyone remembers him I would love to hear from you. Thank you everyone at r/epilepsy for helping my boyfriend live a better life.

I (22F) have a Xanax prescription to help with anxiety related to my PTSD. My boyfriend has a history of abusing this drug, but still likes to use it recreationally which I don’t agree with. I voice my concerns but don’t tell him what to do, and he claims to be in control as he takes it very rarely. Recently however I’ve found he’s been stealing my pills while I’m asleep. It’s gotten to the point I have to count how many are in the bottle so I know if he took any the next day. When I confront him he offers to “buy me more” and thinks that’s the end of it, but refuses to see that the actual issue lies in his actions. He gets extremely angry when I try to bring it up. I’m very worried about him and this is hurting our relationship. I don’t know what to do. EDIT: We’ve been together for 3 years and are planning to move across the country together this year. We’ve planned to get married, so this is why I’m so hesitant to walk away but am losing hope that this is something we can work through.
