C'est très bien que des femmes fassent des films et c'est très bien qu'ils soient différents, mais je ne supporte plus ces concepts féministes moralisateurs et complètement petés comme le mâle gaze. Laissez les artistes s'exprimer comme ils le souhaitent et si ça ne vous plaît pas, ne regardez pas ou proposez autre chose sans dénigrement et paranoïa sexiste.

At some point in the movie they talk about what they remember and Héloïse says, she remembers the first time she wanted to kiss Marianne. In the movie it is never revealed so I would love to know, what you think. When was the first time Héloïse wanted to kiss Marianne and why do you think it is that moment.

I just came from the cinema after watching this. Wow! What a piece of art. I absolutely loved it. The connection between them was captured in such a beautiful and refreshing way. The actors were just lovely.

I get what Adele was trying to say. She wasn't trying to portray an 18th century French woman so much as she was trying to portray a young woman in a complex and emotional situation.
This movie is the best one I've ever seen. Masterpiece.
"Portrait of a Lady on Fire" is not a film for everyone. After all, it's about lesbianism in the 18th century and not everyone is excited about seeing such a picture. As for me, I applaud the lesbian subject matter. but I think the film itself left much to be desired.

The film clearly is intended as an 'art film. In other words, instead of telling a story in a normal way, it's very, very slow and deliberate. too slow. Oddly, however, despite the glacial pacing, when it comes to the relationship between the two women is the opposite. They go from not even talking to each other to you cannot help but think something is missing. There is simply little chemistry or joy between the pair.

Overall, the film could have been very good. Instead, it just looks nice but that's really about all there is to it. Worth seeing? far from a must-see.

I watched this last night as a part of a film festival here in the Philippines and it was absolutely gorgeous. the emotions felt absolutely raw and powerful. i'm never going to forget this film.

This film is a moving painting and goes beyond just painterly beauty and hits hard into your emotional state of consciousness. Only felt that at some situations Conversations could be more intriguing. this movie is nothing short of a marvellous feat and one of the best movies of this year! ❤🔥

All though there is nudity which has to be to made for a pleasure to portrait a situation!
