Terms and Conditions of the Flower Art Award Competitions

Organized and managed by Plains Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Organizer"), participation in any competitions or events requires agreement to these terms and conditions. These rules constitute a binding agreement between the applicant and the Organizer and apply unless otherwise specified by the Organizer. Please read all terms carefully before proceeding with the application.

Chapter 1 – General Provisions
(Scope)
Article 1: These terms apply to the following competitions and events:

Flower Art Award-related events

Chapter 2 – Overview
(Name)
Article 2: These competitions are collectively referred to as the "Flower Art Award" (abbreviated as FAA).

(Organizer)
Article 3: The competitions are hosted by the Flower Art Award Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee"), which is established within Plains Inc.

(Purpose)
Article 4: These competitions are dedicated to the art of flowers, aiming to discover and nurture new talent from an international perspective, to promote this field, enhance Japan’s cultural arts, revitalize the floral industry, and foster international cultural exchange.

(Committee and Jury)
Article 5:

The Committee oversees organization, management, and budgeting responsibilities. The Chairperson of the Committee is the President of Plains Inc.

The Jury Committee is selected with an international perspective and includes foreign judges to ensure fair and impartial evaluations.

Chapter 3 – Participation and Entry
(Participation Requirements)
Article 6: Details such as competition dates, application period, eligibility, and venue are specified in the respective competition guidelines, which are published on the official website: https://flowerartaward.com

(Eligibility)
Article 7: As specified in the guidelines.

(Application Method)
Article 8: Participants must complete the online application form on the official website by the specified deadline. Submission of the application is considered agreement to all terms, including the privacy policy.

(Application Period)
Article 9: Applications submitted outside the specified period will not be accepted under any circumstances.

(First Screening)
Article 10: The Machi wo Ikeru Award and the French Florist Challenge Cup include a first screening stage.

(Approval of Participation)
Article 11: Upon receiving the required documents, the Committee will notify applicants of their acceptance status. Accepted participants must pay the participation fee within 7 days of notification. Confirmation of payment constitutes official approval.

(Cancellation)
Article 12: Participation fees are non-refundable, even in the case of cancellation.

(Participant Responsibilities)
Article 13:

Participants must arrive at the designated location at the specified date and time. If withdrawal is necessary, prior notice is required.

Interpretation services will not be provided. Participants requiring interpreters must arrange their own.

(Travel and Accommodation)
Article 14: Participants are responsible for all travel and accommodation expenses.

(Display Locations)
Article 15: Display locations for works will be determined by the Committee.

(Restoration)
Article 16: Participants are required to restore the display area to its original condition after the event.

(Work Delivery)
Article 17: Participants must check in by the specified time and comply with all competition rules for the delivery and setup of their work.

(Disqualification)
Article 18:

Participants will be disqualified in the following cases:

Failure to check in within the scheduled time without notice

Submission of a different work than registered

False information provided during registration

Obstruction of event operation

Any other conduct deemed disqualifying by the Committee Chair

Participation fees will not be refunded in case of disqualification.

(Absence)
Article 19:

Absence must be reported in advance.

Participation fees are non-refundable in the event of absence.

In cases of unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters or transportation issues, special measures will be announced on the official website.

Chapter 4 – Executive Roles
Article 20: The Committee Chair oversees all operations and judgments.

Chapter 5 – Results
(Announcement)
Article 21:

Competition results will be announced at the awards ceremony and published on the official website and SNS accounts operated by the Committee or its delegates.

Awardees’ names, profiles, and prize titles will be publicly displayed.

Results may also be posted on-site.

(Awards)
Article 22: As specified in the competition guidelines.

Chapter 6 – Disclaimer
Article 23:

The Organizer is not responsible for any issues arising between participants or between participants and third parties. Any damages caused must be resolved by the responsible participant at their own cost.

The Organizer is not liable for theft, loss, accidents, or disputes during the event, including parking-related incidents.

The Organizer assumes no responsibility for issues between participants and official photographers or videographers.

The Organizer is not responsible for postal delays or losses of documents.

The venue may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Judging may proceed with fewer jurors in case of emergencies.

The method of result announcement may change.

In case of natural disasters, the Organizer may cancel the event and offer a refund of participation fees only. Other costs (e.g., travel) are not covered.

While accuracy of information on the official website is ensured, the Organizer is not responsible for how users utilize the information.

Chapter 7 – Miscellaneous
(Intellectual Property)
Article 24:

All rights related to photos and videos taken by the Organizer or its delegates during the event belong to the Organizer.

The Organizer may use such materials for documentation and promotional purposes on websites, advertisements, printed materials, SNS, etc.

(Photography)
Article 25:

Use of tripods, reflectors, or commercial photography is prohibited. Personal photography is allowed for private use only.

Official recording requires prior approval from the Committee and must be done within the designated time.

Inclusion of stores or general visitors in photos is prohibited. Any professional use requires prior approval from Tokyo Midtown Management Co., Ltd.

Unauthorized recording is prohibited. Violators may be asked to stop and delete data.

Participants acknowledge that other individuals may appear in official photos or videos.

The Committee may provide participant information to photographers for smooth operation and accurate delivery.

(Applicable Law)
Article 26: These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Japanese law.

(Changes to Terms)
Article 27: The Committee may revise these terms and related guidelines. Revisions will take effect once published on the official website. Participants must check the latest version before applying.

(Consent)
Article 28: By starting the application process, participants agree to all terms stated herein.

(Supplementary Provisions)

All rights related to submitted works (including copyrights, broadcasting, public performance, screening, recording, publication, likeness, distribution, and sales rights) belong to the Organizer. Participants may not object to such use.

Unauthorized photography, audio, or video recording is strictly prohibited except by authorized personnel.

In the case of discrepancies in translation, the Japanese version of these terms shall prevail.

In the event of natural disasters during the event, the Committee will review and respond promptly.

Any event using the competition title or requesting awardee appearances must be approved by the Organizer. This requirement applies until March of the following year after receiving an award.
