State of Origin game 1 2022 preview
New South Wales head into this series without 2 of their stars from last year in Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic. The spine is almost identical though, and coming off last year's dominant performance in the opening 2 games, that would give them plenty of confidence.
One surprise was the omission of Josh Addo-Carr, who has scored 10 tries from 12 matches for the Blues over the journey.
State of Origin
Billy Slater is guiding Queensland this year and he has picked 4 debutants for the 2022 series.
History tells us the team who wins game 1 is in great shape, with the opening winner going on to claim 30 of the 40 Origin series. With Queensland hosting the decider they'd see this is as a big opportunity, but NSW still appear to hold the edge and we think they'll take first blood.
