Godspeed music, Classic Soviet Film, and an allegorical war film with Channel Criswell ? Heck yeah.
I could never give a movie a 10. That's why I am giving this one a 9. "Idi i smotri" is probably the best war movie ever.

Forget about Hollywood; if you want to find something real, shocking and disturbing, look for this movie. Everyone involved in war is a victim of fate. The world, as the movie shows, do not care about people.

While Flyora is running away, he (and we) keeps thinking what he is running away from.

And another good thing about this movie is the acting. The boy is amazing. Uncanny. So is the girl, I almost cried when he left her behind. The directing is very interesting, the camera runs after the characters through the Russian fields and doesn't care if they die or not: we're still watching.

After you watch the movie, you won't understand war. You will understand victims.

Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

It just hit me that the reason I love Georg so much is that I feel like I've been let in on the secret meaning of a private joke that I still don't quite get. And for that, I'm grateful. I watched this thinking it would be a great depiction of the eastern front. By the end I was taking it for what it was; the Russian film interpretation of the eastern front. Don't take this film for truth. Read the book "Ordinary Men" or something along those lines and get an accurate look at the horrors of the east.

I found the Russian view of the Nazis very amusing. They were shown as pirates or even characters from mad max or the smokers from water world.

At the end I also found it hard to believe that a small Russian partisan group was able to defeat a regular infantry unit in open combat. Possible, but unlikely.

The Kids facial expression is the movie. There are some good scenes, but the whole movie could be edited to 1/2 its length.

Avalon High
Disney Channel’s production of Julie Sherman Wolfe’s screenplay adaptation of the popular novel Avalon High by Meg Cabot. Elaine “Ellie” Harrison has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy/desperado, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself. Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively.

And he saves Come And See for Christmas Day. Of course. Georg is a youtube gem. But if you are reading this, you know that.

That movie was so over the top it was unbelievable at times.
The acting in this film by the boy is incredible. I don't think most adults yet alone a kid could pull that performance off and it is typical of Russian films. Everything is done to perfection and the acting is always central to the film's success.
